Psalm 26 - A psalm of David

In this song of praise, David presents his case for why the Lord should save him. Here’s the psalm in its entirety: “Declare me innocent, O Lord, for I have acted with integrity; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Put me on trial, Lord, and cross-examine me. Test my motives and affections. For I am constantly aware of your unfailing love, and I have lived according to your truth. (Yes, Lord! Help us, simply, keep our minds on you…recognizing your blessings everyday; trusting you completely, and applying your Word that you are teaching us to our lives.)

I do not spend time with liars or go along with hypocrites. I hate the gatherings of those who do evil, and I refuse to join in with the wicked. I wash my hands to declare my innocence. I come to your altar, O Lord, singing a song of thanksgiving and telling of all your miracles. I love your sanctuary, Lord, the place where your glory shines.

Don’t let me suffer the fate of sinners. Don’t condemn me along with murderers. Their hands are dirty with wicked schemes, and they constantly take bribes.

But I am not like that; I do what is right. So in your mercy, save me. I have taken a stand, and I will publicly praise the Lord.” (Psalm 26) (Yes! We all can do this!)

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Help us build our own cases to present to you, our Lord Almighty. Help us increase our time with you, trusting you, loving you, learning you, and praising you, so when the enemy attacks, you will declare us innocent and save us. Lord, we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
