Psalm 13 - For the choir director: A psalm of David.

In this song of praise, David is heavy with grief as he commands the Lord to answer him. Here’s the psalm in its entirety: “O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way? How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand?

Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the light to my eyes, or I will die. Don’t let my enemies gloat, saying, “We have defeated him!” Don’t let them rejoice at my down fall

But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the Lord because he has been so good to me.” (Psalm 13) (Wow! The history of God’s unfailing love allows David to trust in the Lord for deliverance, even in his darkest hour.)

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Thank you for showing us that at the same time we are experiencing deep sorrow, confusion, anxiety, and fear, we can know in our heart that you will deliver us. Lord, you are amazing, and we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
