Psalm 127 - A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. A psalm of Solomon.

In this song of praise, Solomon tells us that God is the main ingredient to all of life and that children are a gift from the Lord. Here’s the psalm in its entirety: “Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is useless. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like sharp arrows in a warrior’s hands. How happy is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.” (Psalm 127)

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Thank you for being the foundation of our happiness, security, and everything in between. And thank you, Lord, for our beautiful children! We love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
