Psalm 125 - A song for the ascent to Jerusalem.

In this song of praise, the psalmist reminds us that the Lord will surround and protect us like Mount Zion surrounds and protects Jerusalem. Here’s the psalm in its entirety: “Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever. Just as the mountains surround and protect Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds and protects his people, both now and forever. The wicked will not rule the godly, for then the godly might be forced to do wrong. (Wow…that is a valid point.) O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune with you. But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O Lord. Take them away with those who do evil. And let Israel have quietness and peace.” (Psalm 125)

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Help us to trust and be in tune with you, for if we do, you have promised to surround and protect us. And, Lord, thank you for giving us a power with you to combat the wicked and their attempts to rule over us. Lord, we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
