Psalm 120 - A song for the ascent to Jerusalem.

In this song of praise, the psalmist is tired of being in the presence of lying and deceitful people. Here’s the psalm in its entirety: “I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer. Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people. O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you? How will he increase your punishment? You will be pierced with sharp arrows and burned with glowing coals.

How I suffer among these scoundrels of Meshech! It pains me to live with these people from Kedar! I am tired of living here among people who hate peace. As for me, I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war!” (Psalm 120)

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Help us continually focus on you and your promises, and let you worry about the wicked and deceitful. Lord, we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
