Proverbs 24

Happy birthday to my son, Landon, who turned 21 today! He was born at the very start of Father’s Day at 12:01 AM, 21 years ago. What a blessing! All three of my children, Khala, Kourtney, and Landon are, officially, adults. I have gotten old! To God be the glory!

In this chapter, Solomon finishes his thirty wise sayings and provides some bonus ones. Here’s one of the thirty that caught my attention: “A wise man is mightier than a strong man, and a man of knowledge is more powerful than a strong man. So don’t go to war without wise guidance; victory depends on having many counselors.” (verse 5-6) This is interesting. When I look at successful people, they are never alone. They are always surrounded by advisors, counselors, and professionals of areas of study that the successful person may not possess. This reinforces we should never make decisions on our own; be wise and seek guidance from God and others.

Read the rest of Proverbs 24 for yourself, and grow your wisdom.

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Help us absorb and consume knowledge, for without it we remain foolish. Lord, we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
