Proverbs 23

In this chapter, Solomon continues the thirty wise sayings; however, he has moved away from having all one-liners and he’s adding context to some of the points of wisdom. Here’s a nugget of wisdom that tends to cause some controversy: “Don’t fail to correct your children. They won’t die if you spank them. Physical discipline may well save them from death.” (verse 13)

Read the rest of Proverbs 23 for yourself, and determine which of these points of wisdom apply to you.

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Thank you for challenging our own perspectives, positions, and beliefs, and helping us recognize the flaws in our thinking and/or character. Lord, we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
