In this chapter, the Lord reassures Baruch will be protected. Here’s the chapter in its entirety: “The prophet Jeremiah gave a message to Baruch son of Neriah in the fourth year of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, after Baruch had written down everything Jeremiah had dictated to him. He said, “This is what Lord, the God of Israel, says to you, Baruch: You have said, ‘I am overwhelmed with trouble! Haven’t I had enough pain already? And now the Lord has added more! I am weary of my own sighing and can find no rest.’”
“Baruch, this is what the Lord says: I will destroy this nation that I built. I will uproot what I planted. Are you seeking great things for yourself? Don’t do it! But don’t be discouraged. I will bring great disaster upon all these people, but I will protect you wherever you go. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Jeremiah 45) (Wow! Rest assured, if we are weary from the fight, God is telling us He will protect us! As long as we worship and trust in Him, He will be our comforter, provider, and strength. Yes, Lord!)
Lord, thank you for your Word today! Thank you for being our rock! Thank you for standing in the gap for us! Thank you for making a way out of no way! Lord, you are amazing! For if we remain committed to you, you will remain committed to us! Lord, we love you!
May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
