Isaiah 36 - Assyria Invades Judah

This chapter is a complete recount of 2 Kings 18:13-37. It highlights a message from the king of Assyria to King Hezekiah. The Assyrians try to convince the people of Judah not to listen to Hezekiah's message of trusting in the Lord. If you don’t already know, King Hezekiah was a great king in the eyes of the Lord. In fact, in 2 Kings it states, “There was never another king like him in the land of Judah, either before or after his time. He remained faithful to the Lord in everything, and he carefully obeyed all the commands the Lord had given Moses. So the Lord was with him, and Hezekiah was successful in everything he did.” (2 Kings 18:5-7)

As usual, read Isaiah 36 for yourself, see how it aligns with our lesson in 2 Kings, draw some conclusions, make some connections, and strive to deepen your knowledge.

Lord, thank you for your Word today! Thank you for reminding us to simply trust you and remain faithful to you! For if we do, you will be with us like you were with Hezekiah. Lord, we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
