Ezekiel 26 - A Message for Tyre

In this chapter, the Lord continues with His destruction of cities who speak against His people.  Tyre is next in line.  Here’s how the  chapter begins:  “On February 3, during the twelfth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity, this message came to me from the Lord:  "Son of man, Tyre has rejoiced over the fall of Jerusalem, saying, ‘Ha! She who controlled the rich trader routes to the east has been broken, and I am the heir!  Because she has been destroyed, I will become wealthy!’

“Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:  I am your enemy, O Tyre, and I will bring many nations against you, like the waves of the sea crashing against your shoreline.  They will destroy the walls of Tyre and tear down its towers.  I will scrape away its soil and make it a bare rock!  The island of Tyre will become uninhabited.  It will be a place for fishermen to spread their nets, for I have spoken, says the Sovereign Lord.  Tyre will become the prey of many nations, and its mainland villages will be destroyed by the sword.  Then they will know that I am the Lord.”  (Ezekiel 26:1-6)

Read the rest of the chapter for yourself, and learn the entire fate of Tyre.

Lord, thank you for your Word today!  Help us ignite the spirit of love you’ve given us, and wish only goodness for even our enemies.  Lord, we love you!

May the Lord bless you and protect you.  May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.  May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

….AND MAY WE ALL PRACTICE THIS WITH ONE ANOTHER.
