This chapter is a recount of all of 2 Kings 11. It highlights the plan to overthrow Athaliah, the daughter of King Ahab and Jezebel (One of the most wicked husband and wife teams in the bible). As a result, their children were wicked as well, and Athaliah was no different. After her son, King Ahaziah, was killed, she killed her grandsons so she could rule the land. That’s crazy! However, a relative hid her infant grandson, the only one left, so she wouldn’t kill him. This chapter continues the story from that point. As usual, read this chapter for yourself, see how it aligns with our lesson in 2 Kings, draw some conclusions, make some connections, and strive to deepen your knowledge.
