This chapter is a recount of the entire chapter 24 in 2 Samuel. It confirms that Satan caused David to take a census, which resulted in the Lord’s anger to strike out against David and the Israelites.
I remember reading 2 Samuel 24 and thinking “Why is the Lord angry with David, when the Lord told him to take the census?” Now, as a result of reading this chapter, we know Satan was the culprit.
There are some additions and deletions to some of the details between the two chapters, so as usual, read it for yourself, see how it aligns with our lesson in 2 Samuel, draw some conclusions, make some connections, and strive to deepen your knowledge.
